An architect who still writes the code

The short story

From a strong ABAP core to SAP BTP Solution Architect and Business AI innovator, bridging traditional SAP with Generative AI, Agentic AI and RAG.

Over 11+ years I've grown from 6+ years of hands-on ABAP into architecting cloud-native, AI-powered platforms on SAP BTP. For the last 5+ years I've led SAP BTP and AI implementations and transformation programmes. At Henkel AG I was the lead BTP solution architect for a multi-year clean-core S/4HANA transformation, working directly with executive stakeholders in Düsseldorf.

At SAP Labs and now at NUS, my focus has been cloud-native architecture with SAP AI Core, AI Launchpad, Joule, MCP servers, agent-to-agent collaboration and RAG on the HANA Cloud vector engine. I also lead architecture governance and mentor BTP and AI teams.

Architected end-to-end SAP BTP solutions for Partner Management, from CAP services and HANA Cloud to Integration Suite and secure XSUAA/IAS/AMS access.
Built AI agents and MCP servers on SAP AI Core and the Generative AI Hub, exposing partner processes as governed tools agents can act on.
Delivered agent-to-agent (A2A) collaboration and RAG on the HANA Cloud vector engine with document grounding.
Set CAP and Fiori/UI5 standards and clean-core decision frameworks (RAP, CAP side-by-side or BTP extensions) that delivery teams adopted.

I was the lead BTP solution architect for Henkel's global clean-core S/4HANA transformation across Finance, Supply Chain, HR and Commercial.

Highlights

Owned the BTP extension portfolio: extension blueprints, integration patterns, and the choice of CAP, CPI, HANA Cloud and BPA.
Delivered production CAP applications from CDS models to Fiori Elements, plus SAPUI5 apps for pricing, financial exposure and accounting.
Built BPA workflows for Finance and Supply Chain approvals, and Build Apps for the citizen-developer programme.
Primary technical contact for senior stakeholders at Henkel HQ in Düsseldorf. Mentored the team on CAP, Fiori, BPA, CPI, RAP and BTP security.
